About Our Conference

St. Louis Area Model UN (SLAMUN) is a student-initiated and student-led conference held on November 5th from 7:30-6:00 on the John Burroughs campus. SLAMUN seeks to connect students from around the St. Louis area to generate solutions for lasting change. Through exciting and fast-paced debate, we hope to spark a conversation about the issues that matter most in the world today. Our conference theme this year will be reducing inequality—from narrowing the gender pay gap to affirmative action. To ensure every student gets the most out of the conference, students will be assigned through recommendation into one of three levels based on prior experience and debate forums will be classroom size. Even more exciting, our opening speaker will be Dr. Sally Barr Ebest, professor emeritus of English at UMSL. We are excited to bring this revamped conference to you and we hope you find it rewarding, eye-opening, and fun!
